Label and Overlay Introduction

Graphic overlays and labels are used to decorate and identify products. A pressure sensitive adhesive is laminated to the back for easy application to the equipment structure or housing.

Definitions

Graphic Overlay: Polyester or polycarbonate materials are generally used in the production of graphic overlays. The decoration is screen printed on the backside so that the colors are seen through the material and can not be scratched or damaged without first damaging the overlay material. The mounting adhesive can be selectively sectioned to allow back lighting through small LED indicator areas and larger display windows. Discrete areas of a graphic overlay can also be embossed (raised) for further graphic or visual effect. Hard coats are also available along with texturing, anti-glare and gloss coatings that can also be formulated for outdoor UV protection.

Labels: Vinyl, polyester, polycarbonate or aluminum materials are generally used in the production of labels. The decoration is screen printed on the front or back side. The mounting adhesive can be specified for the best adhesion to different types of surfaces.
